Hear from Our Heroes
“I came in to teach a class. I ended up learning more about life and resilience from the children than I could’ve imagined.”— Ritu Sharma, Volunteer Mentor
Volunteers Unlock Sustainable Career Opportunities Through Service
What are the benefits of joining as a volunteer or mentor in the “Meri Kala Mera Hunar” program for sustainable livelihood opportunities?
Joining as a volunteer or mentor in the Meri Kala Mera Hunar program offers a rewarding journey of social impact and personal growth. Volunteers get a platform to build strong networks within diverse communities, develop leadership and mentoring skills, and gain meaningful recognition through certificates and mementos under the theme “Hunar se Pehchaan – Seva se Samman.”
Mentors also benefit from sustainable livelihood opportunities, including incentives and access to “learn and earn” programs that enhance their career with practical, skill-based development. This experience not only adds value to your resume but also gives you the pride of contributing to India’s next generation of talent through art, culture and education.

Voices of Change : What Our Volunteers Say

Nikhil Joshi
B.Tech Graduate, Software Engineer
Volunteering with Jan Akanksha opened my eyes to the real India. Beyond code and career, I found purpose. If every young person gave just a few hours a month, we could change thousands of lives — and our own.

Ayesha Shaikh
Final Year MBA Student
Jan Akanksha gave me more than a platform — it gave me confidence, clarity, and community. I mentored two girls who are now pursuing their dreams. The experience changed my career goals forever — I now want to work for impact.

Sneha Kulkarni
12th Std. Student, Aspiring Teacher
At just 17, I felt powerless to bring change — but Jan Akanksha proved me wrong. They trusted me, guided me, and today, I help tutor children in my locality. It’s the most powerful feeling in the world.

Rahul Meena
B.A. in Sociology, Civil Services Aspirant
I joined to teach for a few weekends, but stayed because of the kids’ dreams. Their hunger to learn pushed me to study harder for my own goals. Volunteering made me more focused, grounded, and hopeful.
What Peoples says
Real Concerns. Honest Answers. From One Human to Another.
We understand—it’s not just about joining any NGO. It’s about choosing one that feels real, trustworthy, and truly connected to your own people.
Jan Akanksha has been working on the ground in districts like Deoria for years, not just with posters or events, but by being inside homes, schools, and streets—solving real problems without charging a single rupee. Unlike some NGOs that operate remotely or with heavy overhead, we focus directly on the people. If you’re from Deoria, you’re not just joining a cause—you’re joining your own community’s upliftment.
Your trust is sacred to us. And we don’t ask for it blindly—we earn it.
Jan Akanksha has been serving since 2014 with full transparency. We don’t take brokerage, commissions, or cutbacks. We share real stories, not just statistics. You can meet our volunteers, talk to the people we’ve helped, or visit one of our ground locations. Our trust isn’t built on advertisements—it’s built on years of consistent, heart-centered work.
In many towns and rural areas of Deoria and nearby, Jan Akanksha has been running health camps, tuition classes, rental help, and livelihood training programs for more than 5 years. We are growing, step by step, with and for the community. If you only recently heard of us, it means our quiet work is beginning to speak louder. And now, we invite you to be part of that growing voice
We don’t claim to be the biggest or most famous. We only aim to be the most real.
Unlike others who often require payments for job placement or rental help, we don’t charge a paisa. We listen more than we speak. We stay longer than the campaign ends. We’re not here for photo-ops. We’re here for life’s tough questions—education, shelter, rights, and dignity. And we welcome anyone who believes change begins with kindness.
That fear is valid. Time is precious. But imagine the value of one child reading because of you. One woman feeling safe because you guided her. One family finding shelter because you gave your time.
At Jan Akanksha, nothing you give is wasted. Every small act adds up. You’ll leave not with regret, but with stories that stay with you for life. And along the way, you’ll meet people who make you feel seen, valued, and inspired.
I know which one is the real Jan Akanksha working genuinely on the ground?
It’s painful, but true—some organizations use names similar to ours to confuse people or copy our work without actually helping on the ground.
The real Jan Akanksha was founded in 2014, and our core mission has always been:
“No brokerage, no commission, only service” — especially in health, housing, job placement, and social justice for rural and underserved communities.
Here’s how you can verify the genuine organization:
Visit our ground locations (like in Deoria, Palghar, and tribal Maharashtra) and talk to real beneficiaries and volunteers. We have visible work, not just websites.
Our official website is: [www.janakanksha.org]
(Make sure it ends in “.org” and is registered under the original PAN India NGO.)We never take money for job placement, rental help, or government documentation.
Our volunteers are open to public feedback, and we maintain transparency on social media, WhatsApp groups, and offline events.
We are registered under Indian NGO laws, with a verified registration number and annual public impact reports available.
If you ever feel unsure—just ask us directly. We’ll welcome your doubt and clear it with dignity and proof.
Because this mission isn’t just about a name—it’s about trust. And real trust doesn’t need marketing; it needs honesty, consistency, and people like you to carry it forward.
